DIY Clean Engine Bay
I have seen many requests for instructions on cleaning the engine bay so I decided to make a FYI/DIY for this board. Please think twice about getting your engine bay hosed down with pressured water at a gas station car wash... that will kill your electronics.

Topic: To clean the engine bay.
Applies to: All cars.
Time: 45 minutes.
Equipment: Engine degreaser spray, foam, bucket & water.

1. Do not clean your engine often as the engine bay is designed to be water-free... 2 to 4 times a year is alright. OK, lets start with a dirty engine...

2. Get your degreaser spray ready. Shake the can for a minute.

3. Get a sponge and some clean water...

4. Make sure the sponge is relatively dry...

5. Wipe off any excess dirt, insects, chunks of tar, blobs of grease off with a clean cloth or sponge. Regularly rinse the sponge!

6. Spray the degreaser on the engine, plastic parts and anywhere else where there is grease and black soot.

7. Wait 15 minutes until the degreaser eats into the dirt until it runs...

8. Get fresh water and clean sponge.

9. Slowly wipe all the parts in a single direction... frequently rinsing the sponge in clean water and changing the water.... this will take time (about 20 minutes)... make sure that you change the water when it turns black. I changed my water 8 times for this procedure. After cleaning the sponge, make sure that the sponge is not too wet. Take care around any electrical plugs, battery, fuse box and the head lamps. Repeat until your engine is clean.

10. Hey! Clean engine bay!!! Now have a cold beer!
